About Me

arnoldo_edited.jpg

I was born in Honduras.  It's a small country right in the heart of Central America.  My parents had the extraordinary vision that we (their kids) should have all the opportunities that they would have liked, but never got.  This is why my brother, my two sisters, and I found ourselves taking music lessons at a very early age.  We also found ourselves enrolled in a bilingual school that started out as a school for missionary kids and brought teachers from the US to teach in Honduras.

This allowed me to have an early exposure to American culture.  I grew up playing baseball in a little league team, this in a country where fútbol (soccer) is king.  It also made me learn English really quickly, since all my classes were taught in English, and we were expected to speak in English at school.  I did speak Spanish at home, and thus I grew up with two native tongues.

I graduated from high school there, and attended a local university in Honduras, where I started studying to become a Computer Systems Engineer.  Around halfway through, I decided to pursue an Industrial Engineering degree instead.  After completing that, I decided to enroll in a second Engineering degree, this time in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.  When I graduated, I was able to get a job in a small company that sold roofing and construction products.

I decided to go back to school after a couple years, and I obtained a Master's Degree in Business Management (MBA) and got a job with a multinational company.  There, I managed the operations for online courses for English teachers and staff.  I was then promoted to Customer Support Supervisor, and after three years, this company transferred me to the United States.  My wife and I settled in the Baltimore area (truly embracing steamed crabs and Old Bay), and I quickly developed a new passion: Cars.  I avidly researched information on several makes and models, subscribing to magazines and other publications, and also spending unending hours on Youtube, learning about vehicle repairs and specifications.

My two engineering degrees give me a clear understanding of business processes; but it was my passion for cars, and specifically Mercedes-Benz that helped me greatly when, following corporate layoffs, I found himself in a new job after changing industries in 2018.  At that point, I joined the sales team at Mercedes-Benz of Hunt Valley.  Quickly, I employed my outstanding communication and customer service skills and in 2019 I was promoted to Mercedes-Benz Product Concierge. The Mercedes-Benz philosophy “Driven to Delight” is a concept that resonated with my customer service approach to business.  I believe that focusing on furthering the relationship between Mercedes-Benz customers and the dealership will enable those customers to maximize enjoyment of their vehicles and understand the technology and amenities that position Mercedes-Benz above the rest.

Outside of work, my wife and I enjoy theatrical productions, concerts, and when at home, spending time with our two mini schnauzers, Chopin and Tauriel, and our Betta fish, Betamax and Leviathan.
